Weekly Invention by InventionHome.com – Dog/Cat Collar and Leash with Attachable Charms

InventionHome announces their Invention of the Week – “Dog/Cat Collar and Leash with Attachable Charms”.

With the help of InventionHome, independent inventor Angela Dawe’s concept for a dog/cat leash and collar with attachable charms is now being sold in over 1,145 PetSmart locations nationwide! The collars and leashes are worn and used in the same fashion as standard collars and leashes. But unlike the traditional devices, Dog/Cat Collar & Leash with Attachable Charms are functional and stylish. Users may choose to add different charms to the collars and leashes such as hearts, stars, sports, charity awareness and many more styles. These decorative charms can show the personality of any pet or owner, while also being comfortable for the animal to wear.

Angela came to Inventionhome with an idea and a crude sample, and we helped her develop the concept, market her idea and close a licensing deal.

Weekly Invention by InventionHome.com - The BKind® Leashing System

InventionHome announces their Invention of the Week – “The BKind® Leashing System”.
Independent inventor Jeremy Cohen enlisted the help of InventionHome to assist him in finding marketing/licensing opportunities for his invention.

The BKind® Leashing System is designed to absorb the shock generated when a dog pulls or lunges during exercise walking. This unique product spreads the energy and force created when the leash is pulled, so there is no shock to the anatomy of the dog or the walker. Because of its multi-directional and self-equalizing attributes, this innovative device enables the walker to keep their dog in a proper position, making handling their dog safer and easier.

The BKind® Leashing System incorporates shock cords and sliding rings in configurations that allow the force exerted from pulling on a leash to be dissipated through the shock cords, which run through material around the dogs’ torso. No pressure is applied to the dog’s throat, as occurs when a leash is applied to a common collar. The sliding rings allow the BKind® to be multi-directional and self-equalizing (meaning no matter which direction the dog moves, The BKind® Leashing System equally and effectively dissipates the exerted force across the dog’s anatomy, and helps reestablish the dog to the proper position for walking).

Placing The BKind® Leashing System on a dog involves two easy steps:1) Slip the neck loop over the dog’s head and bring the remaining portion up to the dog’s belly and sides.2) Clip the side cord (over the back) to the side clip, and the in-line cord (along the back) to the rear ring. From there, any leash (such as a BKind® leash) can be clipped to the rear ring.

Weekly Invention by InventionHome.com – “Med-A-Bed”

InventionHome and MatchProduct.com announce their Invention of the Week – “Med-A-Bed”.

Independent inventor Mark McCabe enlisted the help of MatchProduct.com (sister company of InventionHome) to assist him in finding marketing/licensing opportunities for his invention.

Med-A-Bed is a unique, patent pending pet bed that you can easily and quickly convert to a device that allows you to control your small pet's movements while you dispense medications to it.This pet bed is the only one on the market that is designed to be used as a comfy bed and also as a humane way to give your pet the meds it occasionally needs. The soft, faux lambswool interior ensures that your pet will not be harmed as you wrap it gently but firmly to snug it up to prevent movement that allows you to do what is needed, whether it be dispensing meds or treating an eye, ear, or dental issue.Med-A-Bed 's unique, adjustable Velcro fastening system, built right into the design of the bed, allows you to adjust the tightness around your pet regardless of it's size. This frees up the use of both of your hands, which can make the difference between a successful operation and a disastrous one. Picture your small pet wrapped in a burrito and you get the idea of what this looks like when in use.If you’ve ever tried to give your pet medicine, especially a rambunctious cat, you know how difficult this can be. It can be a traumatic experience not only for the pet but also for the person in charge of this task. Using a familiar object...your pet's own bed...makes it easier to complete this difficult chore.

InventionHome and MatchProduct.com announce their Invention of the Week – “Fartbusters”.

California company Bark Stix, Inc. enlisted the help of MatchProduct.com (sister company of InventionHome) to assist them in finding marketing/licensing opportunities for their innovative product.

Made from Pure Whole USDA Range chicken with a proprietary blend of digestive enzymes that can aid digestion as well as help with those ' aromatic' moments that come between dog and guardian. These all meat treats are good for cats too.
Enzymes are the catalyst for every metabolic process in the body, and the very foundation for good digestion and overall health. Without these enzymes animals cannot absorb and utilize vitamins, minerals, amino acids and fats, leading to a lower quality of nutrition from even the healthiest diet. You buy pet food for its nutrition, but your pet probably isn't absorbing enough of it.Digestive enzymes added to your dog’s meal can increase nutritional absorption by up to 70%. Enzymes unlock the vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids to help with allergies, immune function, digestion, skin and coat problems, bloating, flatulence and more.

Weekly Invention by InventionHome.com – Purrfect Potty

InventionHome announces their Invention of the Week – “Purrfect Potty”.

Independent inventor Noleen Zasman enlisted the help of InventionHome to assist her in finding marketing/licensing opportunities for her invention.

Purrfect Potty is a kitty litter container designed for placement in one room or area of the home with an access door in another room leading to and from the container. The enclosed unit is thereby hidden from view allowing for a clean and fresh smelling home. A hole is made in a wall within the home and will act as the cat access door. This hole can be made between any two rooms or areas of the home, as desired. Purrfect Potty consists of various components that are placed on both sides of the wall. The interior wall will note a carpeted ramp leading to the access door. A bezel is fastened to the wall to frame the hole in an aesthetically pleasing manner. A flap type of door is positioned into place to cover the opening. Both a tunnel clamp and drywall spacer are used to frame the inside of the hole for structural integrity and safety. Once the frame is in place, the pet owner can install the kitty litter container on the other side of the wall. The litter capsule is completely enclosed and notes a connection point opening that is fitted into the wall opening. The backside of the capsule notes a hinged door that will allow for pet owner access to the litter tray inside. The included tray can be removed for cleaning and filling, as needed.

Weekly Invention by InventionHome.com – Pet Door Fire Exit

InventionHome announces their Invention of the Week – “Pet Door Fire Exit”.

Independent inventor Tom Kodat enlisted the help of InventionHome to assist him in finding marketing/licensing opportunities for his invention.

Pet Door Fire Exit allows a pet the ability to move outside the home without assistance from the owner, in the event of an emergency. The exit also allows the homeowner to release the animal before getting out of a car so that the pet can protect the owner as he moves to the house from the car. Pet Door Fire Exit consists of an electronic pet door with an internal RF transceiver, speaker, and digital recorder/player. The other main parts are a smoke detector with an internal RF transceiver, a handheld RF remote control, and pet collars with internal RF transmitters. The smoke detector, similar in appearance to a regular smoke detector, has an internal radio frequency (RF) transceiver operating at 900MHz or 2.4GHz. The frame of the electronic pet door would contain a digital voice recorder/player, a speaker, and an RF transceiver like the one in the smoke detector. Normally, a 12-volt converter at the nearest receptacle to the door will provide power. Both the smoke detector and the pet door could also contain rechargeable batteries so the devices could still function if the power is off. A handheld or keychain remote control can communicate with the transceiver in the pet doorframe, permitting the user to unlock the pet door, as desired. Pet collars with RF transmitters and devices that could open a screen or storm door such as a rod screw actuator and a replacement storm door handle with a 12-volt DC solenoid inside are also products used in this invention. The pet door could have a manual lock or latch so that it could function as a standard type of pet door. The PDFE smoke detector could replace an existing smoke detector in a home or could be installed in a different location. If the smoke detector senses smoke, it will signal the pet door by RF communication, causing the pet door to unlock and play the voice recording calling the pet(s) to the door. If unlocked by the smoke detector, all pet(s) will be able to exit but not re-enter. Pressing the "test" button on the smoke detector should unlock the pet door and activate playback of the voice recording calling the pet(s). Because the smoke detector and the electronic pet door are communicating by RF transmission, the pet door could direct the smoke detector to silence the alarm tone for some period of time (20 seconds for example) to ensure that the pet(s) can hear the voice playback. Without the voice-recording playback, the pet(s) would not know that the pet door is unlocked and that they are wanted outside. The PDFE handheld or keychain remote control will also cause the pet door to unlock and play the voice recording. In addition to being operated by the smoke detector or the remote control, the pet door RF transceiver could recognize pet collars with compatible RF transmitters. This could also be done with passive RFID tags in the collars and an RFID reader in the electronic pet door. The pet collars would allow the pet door to differentiate between pets so access through the door could be limited to just those with the compatible collar. One or more LEDs on the electronic pet door frame could indicate to the owner if the pet is inside or out if there is only one pet and if a battery in a pet collar needs to be replaced. The PDFE smoke detector is also made to sense and trigger in the event of high levels of carbon monoxide.

Weekly Invention by InventionHome.com – LEXIE LIGHTS

InventionHome announces their Invention of the Week – LEXIE LIGHTS.

Independent inventor John Sowakinas enlisted the help of InventionHome to assist him in finding marketing/licensing opportunities for his invention.

LEXIE LIGHTS is a convenient pet collar attachment that will illuminate to provide lighting in front, behind or to the side of the pet, providing a suitable and well-lighted area for better viewing capabilities. The attachment piece is designed to fit any size pet collar with snap-on retention devices. The center of the curved design rests approximately 1-inch above the collar to ensure proper function of the 360-degree swivel base on which the LED lighting system sits. The battery-operated, double LED light notes an on-off switch for ease in powering the unit. A pet owner should simply switch the power button to the ‘on’ position to then adjust the direction of the light. The swivel base will enable a user to point the light in any direction. LEXIE LIGHTS can be made available in a set of two for placement on two areas of the collar. With more than one LEXIE LIGHT attached to a collar, lighting may be directed in one or two areas simultaneously. The entire unit measures approximately 2-inches long but may be modified according to collar and pet size. The battery housing is easy to access and provides a user the ability to remove and change batteries when needed. The invention is not limited to dogs and may fit a range of collars worn by any animal.
